DjVu reference books
Older technical books and scanned references often arrive as DjVu. A format you rarely see should not prevent you from checking a diagram or reading the chapter someone sent you.
THE PRACTICAL VALUE
Why this step deserves its own workflow
Use the supported DjVu viewing route to inspect scanned pages and diagrams in the same broad file workspace. You can assess the material before choosing whether a separate text-recognition or export workflow is needed. This is useful for reference reading without treating the scan as an editable source document.

A PRACTICAL SEQUENCE
Start with the material you actually need.
Check representative material before deciding how much more to process.
- Open the DjVu file and inspect representative pages.
- Navigate and zoom for diagrams or small print.
- Keep the original when preparing any derived material.
EDITION & SCOPE
Know the scope before you commit.
DjVu subtypes and damaged files may behave differently. Current folder full-text search does not cover DjVu, and scanned page display is not automatic OCR.
Free has no trial expiry: common-format reading, ordinary PDF annotations and supported ordinary document/image-to-PDF export remain available. Recognition, specialist formats and advanced tools have their own allowances or tier requirements.
Compare Free, Standard and Pro →Images may retain historical layouts. Demonstration books, dictionaries and media are not bundled.
A USEFUL QUESTION
Can I use folder search to search every scanned DjVu page?
No. The current content-search range excludes DjVu and does not automatically recognise scans.
CONTINUE THE WORKFLOW
A useful next step.
Keep reading, understanding and organising around the same material.
Books & reading
PDG scanned books
An older digital book may arrive as hundreds of numbered PDG pages rather than a single PDF. Opening every page in a separate image window makes a long reference book unnecessarily awkward to read.

Images & scanned-page OCR
A photographed handout or scanned page contains words you can see but cannot copy. Retyping the entire page wastes effort when only a paragraph or a few labels are needed.

EPUB reader
A book should not feel like a folder of web pages. Long chapters, illustrations and footnotes can interrupt your concentration when the reading controls and the reference tools live in different applications.
