MOBI, AZW3 & FB2 books
A personal ebook collection rarely uses one format. Converting every older book before you can even inspect a chapter adds another task before the reading has begun.
THE PRACTICAL VALUE
Why this step deserves its own workflow
Open supported DRM-free MOBI, AZW3 and FB2 books in their dedicated reading route. Chapter navigation makes it easier to inspect and read the available text without first creating a second file. Keep the original book alongside the other reference formats you already use.

A PRACTICAL SEQUENCE
Start with the material you actually need.
Check representative material before deciding how much more to process.
- Open your DRM-free ebook.
- Use the available chapter navigation to find the material.
- Check illustrations and typography on the actual book.
EDITION & SCOPE
Know the scope before you commit.
These formats do not share every EPUB feature. DRM, container versions and unusual markup can limit access or appearance; registration is not a promise of Kindle account integration.
Free has no trial expiry: common-format reading, ordinary PDF annotations and supported ordinary document/image-to-PDF export remain available. Recognition, specialist formats and advanced tools have their own allowances or tier requirements.
Compare Free, Standard and Pro →Images may retain historical layouts. Demonstration books, dictionaries and media are not bundled.
A USEFUL QUESTION
Will my Kindle account library automatically appear?
No. This is local-file viewing for supported files you provide, not a connected Kindle library service.
CONTINUE THE WORKFLOW
A useful next step.
Keep reading, understanding and organising around the same material.
Books & reading
EPUB reader
A book should not feel like a folder of web pages. Long chapters, illustrations and footnotes can interrupt your concentration when the reading controls and the reference tools live in different applications.

Find a passage in a long book
You remember a phrase but not its chapter. Repeatedly scrolling through a long book can cost more attention than the passage itself, especially when you return to it days after reading.

PDG scanned books
An older digital book may arrive as hundreds of numbered PDG pages rather than a single PDF. Opening every page in a separate image window makes a long reference book unnecessarily awkward to read.
