Camera RAW & photo culling
A shoot leaves many similar frames. Opening files individually makes it harder to compare quality and keep the candidates you want, especially when RAW needs its own decoding route.
THE PRACTICAL VALUE
Why this step deserves its own workflow
Inspect supported camera RAW files and use eligible photo rating/culling tools to organise the selection. Ratings, rejection marks and filters help separate review decisions from the original image data. This is useful for choosing what deserves further editing rather than trying to replace a full RAW development studio.

A PRACTICAL SEQUENCE
Start with the material you actually need.
Check representative material before deciding how much more to process.
- Open a supported image collection and inspect representative files.
- Apply the available rating or rejection marks.
- Filter the selection before continuing your editing workflow.
EDITION & SCOPE
Know the scope before you commit.
RAW decoding depends on camera/file variants. Photo rating and culling require Standard or Pro; specialist RAW Free limits apply. This is not a full colour-managed RAW editor.
Free has no trial expiry: common-format reading, ordinary PDF annotations and supported ordinary document/image-to-PDF export remain available. Recognition, specialist formats and advanced tools have their own allowances or tier requirements.
Compare Free, Standard and Pro →Images may retain historical layouts. Demonstration books, dictionaries and media are not bundled.
A USEFUL QUESTION
Does a rejection mark mean a file is deleted?
A culling decision and a filesystem deletion are different actions. Review the actual control before removing originals.
CONTINUE THE WORKFLOW
A useful next step.
Keep reading, understanding and organising around the same material.
Archives & containers
ZIP, RAR & archive browsing
You receive a mixed package of documents and images, but only need one item. Unpacking the entire folder before seeing what is inside creates extra work and duplicate files.

Documents & images to PDF
A recipient wants one convenient PDF, but your source is a document or a collection of images. Hunting for a separate converter for an everyday task adds unnecessary friction.

CAJ research reading
A reference arrives as CAJ just when you need to check a citation or a figure. Installing a separate reader for one occasional format makes research feel more fragmented than it needs to be.
