NurViewer · Subtitles & active listening
A–B repeat & playback speed
A difficult sentence needs several listens, but repeatedly seeking to its start keeps turning practice into mouse work. Slowing everything down is also awkward when only one short passage is difficult.
THE PRACTICAL VALUE
Why this step deserves its own workflow
Set an A–B range for focused repetition and use the available speed controls to match your listening level. Return to normal playback when the passage becomes clearer. Combining a bounded loop with subtitle navigation helps you practise the material you chose rather than replaying an entire clip.
A PRACTICAL SEQUENCE
Start with the material you actually need.
Check representative material before deciding how much more to process.
- Locate the passage with the timeline or subtitle list.
- Set the A and B points and choose a comfortable speed.
- Repeat, then clear the loop to continue.
EDITION & SCOPE
Know the scope before you commit.
Playback depends on the actual media codecs and tracks. A loop is a playback tool, not an automatic language lesson, transcript or pronunciation assessment.
Free has no trial expiry: common-format reading, ordinary PDF annotations and supported ordinary document/image-to-PDF export remain available. Recognition, specialist formats and advanced tools have their own allowances or tier requirements.
Compare Free, Standard and Pro →Images may retain historical layouts. Demonstration books, dictionaries and media are not bundled.
A USEFUL QUESTION
Do I have to cut the video into small files first?
No. A–B playback marks a range in the current media without requiring a separate edited clip.
CONTINUE THE WORKFLOW
A useful next step.
Keep reading, understanding and organising around the same material.
Subtitles & active listening
Clickable subtitle study
A useful line passes before you can understand it. Dragging a video timeline back and forth is an imprecise way to find the sentence, and leaving the player to look up one word breaks the listening session.

Main & secondary subtitles
A translation helps you follow a scene, but constantly replacing the original subtitle makes it harder to compare an expression with its meaning. Two useful tracks should be easier to study together.
