Storage & sync status

Understand SovaSpace online, offline, local, Google Drive, quota and pending-work indicators.

Three separate states

SovaSpace deliberately separates device availability, network reachability and Google Drive authorization. An Entry can be available locally while the network is offline, or the device can be online while Drive access needs attention.

StateWhat it meansWhat you can usually do
Local copy availableThe encrypted material required for the Entry exists on this device.Open it without waiting for Drive, subject to the current space lock state.
Network onlineThe device has usable connectivity to required endpoints.Authenticate, coordinate sync and reach Google services.
Drive authorizedThe current Google authorization can access SovaSpace-created storage.Upload or download encrypted objects when other requirements are met.

Common messages

Online

Required services appear reachable. This does not guarantee every individual transfer has finished.

Offline

Existing locally available work may remain usable. New cloud-dependent actions wait until connectivity returns.

Sign-in or Drive permission needed

Complete Google authentication or restore the requested Drive authorization. If an organization controls the account, an administrator may need to permit the required Google scopes.

Quota or storage warning

Free space on the device or in Google Drive. Encrypted copies still consume real storage, and large files can require temporary processing room.

Pending work

Queued or retrying does not mean content is lost. SovaSpace records durable work before background processing where supported. Keep the app available long enough to retry and confirm the final status before removing a local source or resetting a device.

Google Drive guidance

SovaSpace-created objects may use opaque names and locations that are not intended for manual organization. Do not rename, move or delete them directly unless you intend to affect recovery. Encryption protects confidentiality; it cannot prevent Google, the account owner, a device, or software from deleting an object.

Troubleshooting

  1. Confirm the device clock and network are correct.
  2. Check that the same Google account is signed in.
  3. Verify available Drive and device storage.
  4. Open the storage status and follow its specific authorization action.
  5. On a managed network, review the IT administrator guide.
  6. If the condition persists, contact support with the exact message, platform and app version.
