Private media playback with searchable subtitles

SovaSpace connects encrypted media, supported subtitle files and focused listening tools without turning private files into a public media library.

Subtitles as a navigation layer

Long recordings become easier to revisit when subtitle text can act as an index. SovaSpace supports SRT, VTT, ASS and LRC workflows where compatible with the file and platform.

Users can search a supported subtitle track, select a result and jump to its timestamp. Language-track switching keeps alternate subtitle files close to the same media item instead of requiring a separate catalog.

Focus Mode for close listening

Focus Mode can pin selected subtitle lines and repeat the relevant media segment. This is useful for transcription review, language study, interview analysis and any task where a short passage needs repeated attention.

The displayed timestamp still depends on the accuracy of the subtitle file. SovaSpace does not automatically make an imprecise or badly synchronized supporting file authoritative.

Encrypted objects and local playback

Supported media and subtitle files are encrypted before cloud storage. When playback uses a local encrypted copy, decryption happens on the authorized device. For compatible encrypted cloud video, SovaSpace can request and decrypt only the portions needed for playback instead of always waiting for the complete object.

Range playback reduces the startup cost for some large files, but it does not remove network, codec, device, memory or API constraints. Seeking to an uncached section can still require a new encrypted range request.

Codec and platform limits

A file extension alone does not guarantee that the current device can decode every video or audio stream inside the container. Hardware decoding, operating-system media components and licensed codecs vary by platform.

SovaSpace reports a compatibility path where possible, including a CPU rendering fallback on supported Windows configurations. Performance and battery use can differ from hardware-accelerated playback.

Privacy boundaries during playback

Encryption protects stored media and supported subtitle files. It cannot stop screen recording, screenshots, speakers, an unlocked endpoint or a malicious operating system from capturing material during authorized playback.

Secret Spaces apply stricter background and foreground rules. Normal background media behavior is intentionally limited across the protected boundary.

Private playback means the stored workspace follows SovaSpace's encryption model; it is not digital-rights management and does not grant rights to media the user does not own.
